If you are a woodland owner or enthusiast in South Central Pennsylvania looking to connect with like-minded individuals to gain valuable insights into woodland management, we have exciting news for you. A new organization, the Southern Appalachian Woodland Network in Pennsylvania, or SAWN-PA, is being launched to serve people and communities located in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and nearby counties.

SAWN-PA is committed to providing its members with resources and information on effective woodland stewardship practices. Throughout the year a wide variety of events will address a range of woodland stewardship topics of interest to everyone who cares about our forests and woodlands in Pennsylvania's Southern Appalachian region. Events will include presentations and panel discussions, field trips and visits to woodland properties, and social gatherings. A strength of SAWN-PA is the community of people who come together to share their woodland experiences with each other.
The SAWN-PA website will serve as a hub for members, featuring an event calendar to keep everyone informed about upcoming activities such as member meetings, workshops, field excursions and social events. Along with a curated selection of resources that will give members access to valuable information and expertise, the website also includes a forum for people to share their experiences, ask questions, and engage with other members to exchange ideas and best practices.
If you are a woodland owner or enthusiast in South Central Pennsylvania looking to connect with a community of like-minded individuals and access valuable resources on woodland stewardship, please consider joining SAWN-PA. Together, we can work towards creating and sustaining healthy, thriving woodlands in Pennsylvania's Southern Appalachian region!
